Silver nanocomposites were generated with second harmonic of pulsed nanosecond Nd:YAG laser (532 nm) by high and moderate pulse energies in tetrahydrofuran with 0.0 wt% and 0.8 wt% concentrations ofpolystyrene. The optical properties, size distribution and agglomeration of nanocomposites were investigated by ultraviolet-visible absorptionspectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and light scattering theory. The absorption spectra indicated a blue shift from 435 nm to 422 nm by adding polymer to the liquid. The average size of spherical anocomposites reduced from 7 nm to 2 nm by increasing the pulse energy from 130 mJ/pulse to 300 mJ/pulse. Moreover, the agglomeration of nanoparticles decreased by adding polymer. We observed a very good agreement between the measured and calculated (Mie scattering theory) average size of nanocomposites
