Nanocomposites are a promising new class of materials containing filler with at least one dimension in the nanometer scale. In recent years, polymer/layered silicate nanocomposite has been extensively studied due to its excellent properties [1]. Polymer–clay nanocomposite has unique properties compared to the conventional filled polymers [2]. For example, by nanocomposite formation, the mechanical properties such as tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, flexural modulus, heat distortion temperature (HDT) [3] and gas impermeability are increased; also improved solvent resistance accompanies better physical properties. Finally, nanocomposites often exhibit enhanced thermal stability as a key property to meet the ever increasing applications in high temperature environment [4-5]. There are some published articles concerning this issue by Morgan and Harris [6], also Yuan Hu et al. [5].In this work thermal stability of organoclay/NR nanocomposite was investigated.
