چکیده:

In this study, poly (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) (ABS) is melt grafted with maleic anhydride (MAH) to obtain ABS-g-MAH and then, the product is used as a reactive compatibilizer for polycarbonate (PC)/ABS blends. The blends were injection molded and samples for tensile and impact resistance tests were prepared and tests were carried out. The obtained results from tensile test show that using 20 phr of ABS-g-MAH can improve yield strength of blends from 56 to 62.4 MPa. Moreover, the charpy notched impact test results show an optimum value of 62kJ/m2 in impact strength of compatibilized blends using 20 phr of ABS-g-MAH. In comparison, the charpy notched impact strength of uncompatibilized PC/ABS was 49kJ/m2.
