چکیده:

The aim of this study was to understand the role of wood content on mechanical properties of virgin and recycled wood-plastic composites (WPCs) produced via an extrusion process. WPC profiles with three different wood contents (50, 60 and 70%wt)were produced and recycled.HDPE was used aspolymeric matrixin all of the experiments. Primarily, sawdust and HDPE granules were premixed and fed into the hoper to produce rod shaped profiles(VWPC). To study the physical and mechanical properties variations upon recycling, WPCs were ground to produce WPC granules. The granules were then reprocessed using the same counter-rotating twin screw extruder to produce WPC profiles again(R1WPC). This procedure was repeated two times again to produce profiles(R2WPC, R3WPC). Mechanical propertiesfrom bending test were carried out on the VWPC, R1WPC, R2WPC and R3WPC
