چکیده:

LLE data and tie lines for the ternary systems of (water + 1,3-butanediol +2-ethyl-1-hexanol)and (water + 1,3-butanediol + decanol) were measured at T = 303.2 K. The experimental ternary (liquid + liquid) equilibrium data were correlated with the NRTL model. The reliability of the experimental tie lines was con rmed using Bachman correlation. The average root-mean-square deviation (RMSD) values of (water + 1,3-butanediol + 2-ethyl-1-hexanol) and (water + 1,3- butanediol + decanol) systems were 1.38% and 1.18%, respectively. Distribution coef cients and separation factors were measured to evaluate the extracting capability of the solvents. The results show that 2-ethyl-1-hexanol may be considered as a reliable organic solvent for the extraction of 1,3-butanediol from aqueous solutions.
