in manufacturing industries ultrasonic welding has established itself as one of the most effective techniques for fusing plastic assemblies due to its rapid performance and the absence of filler material this paper is concerned with an experimental study on the ultrasonic welding of ABS parts togther as the strength of the joints in the absence of energy directors are so weak trying to broaden the joint area would be the best way to compensate this deficiency in this study the relation between energy consumption of the machine and joint area with the preheating of certain types of ABS and the parameters of ultrasonic welding machine was clarified . the equation of the influence of ultrasonic welding machine parameters on two temperature conditions with the joint size and machine energy consumption was driven.
