separation of nano particles from gas or liquid flow is one of the most important and complicated major in industries such as synthesic of nanoparticles and powder processing in this paper two methods for separating the nano particles from carrier flow gas or liquid flow has been introduced the cyclone is a two phase device for the separation of dispersed particles from their carrying flow in comparison with other types of separators such as electrostatic fabric and wet collectors the cyclone has the advantages of being simple in design and operation very reliable in performance and considerably low cost in maintance in the past decades low collection efficiency of large scale cyclones for particles smaller than 5microns had been indicated as a disadvantage of cyclones but recently two types of cyclones have been offered that can be able to separate sub -micron particles from carrier flow
