چکیده:

Al2O3-SiC composite is difficult to sinter to full density. The densification method for these composites is therefore hot pressing. In this study, the effect of hot pressing temperature on mechanical properties of Al2O3 based nanocomposite containing 10 vol. % nano-SiC and nano-MgO particles was investigated. The hot pressing was carried out at 1600°C to 1750°C temperatures at 30 MPa pressure. SEM and density results appear that increasing ofhotpressing temperature increased density and particle size of grains. Also as sintering temperature was increased, flexural strength to 396 MPa, hardness to 19.5 GPa, and toughness fracture to 3.6 MPa.m1/2 were improved
