Novel poly (acrylic acid) microgels were prepared with ultilizing multi functional cross-linkers via precipitation polymerization. In all systems a constant concentration of a multiacrylate crosslinker includin 1,6 Hexanediol diacrylate, trimethylolpropane triacrylate and di(trimethylolpropane) tetraacrylate was employed. Capability of solvent absorbency and enhancement visocity demonstrated that the structure of samples depend very strongly on functionality and number of hydrophobic groups in the cross-linker structure. Provided stability was shown by thermal gravimetric analysis (DSC) and rheometrical analyses performed using DTMPTA as tetra fanctional crosslinker. The rotational viscosity results supported the pseudoplastic behavior of samples synthesized. The elasticity theory was used to discuss the network structure of polymer and calculeted the number of crosslinker sites per unit volume (ν).
