چکیده:

In order to provide coated textiles with a hydrophobic surface attempts were made to create structures similar to lotus leaves by generating the structures that using two phase separation of cellulose and alkyl silane blend solutions. Morphology of the so formed structures depends on the coagulation conditions. Resulting dimensions of these structures are influenced by the cellulose derivative substituent, the reaction time ratio and the coagulation by acid and temperature. In general, blends with cellulose acetate form the polymer blend solutions qualify for coating woven fabrics. A well-formed surface structure was obtained from WG/TEOS blends. The hydrophobicity was enhanced by either adding an alkyl silane to the coating compound. In order to prepare the hydrophobic coating, by a precursor sol comprising of Water Glass, and metal alkoxide such as tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS), a solvent, a basic catalyst and water, depositing the precursor sol as a film onto a fabric surface, such as a substrate.
