چکیده:

The polyurethane/poly (vinyl alcohol) (PU/PVA) blend membranes were prepared for gas separation. PU was synthesized by two step polymerization from isophoronediisocyanate (IPDI), polytetramethylene glycol (PTMG) and 1, 4-butanediamine (BDA). A series of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) with 15, 30, 60, 145 and 200 kilodalton molecular weights have been chosen to prepare PU/PVA blend membranes. All blends prepared in 10 wt. % of PVA in membranes. The morphologies of PU-based blend membranes were investigated by SEM. The resulting membranes were compatible immiscible system. The permeability coefficient of CO2, CH4, O2 and N2 gases were decreased by increasing the molecular weight of PVA but the permeability reduction of CO2 was the less than others. The CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4 selectivity increased as the molecular weight increased
