چکیده:

Dispersion-flattened fibers(w-fibers), provide stronger confinement and larger core area for single mode operation in comparison with single-clad fibers. Another advantage of w-fibers, is the ability of controlling the dispersion by varying the structural parameters. Changing the refractive index profile can change waveguide dispersion and thus the overall intramodal dispersion will be flattened over a wider range.In this project the components of electromagnetic field propagated in a w-fiber will be calculated, the dispersion relation and the effect of the structural parameters on fiber dispersion will also be studied so a more dispersion flattened and confined fiber can be designed.
