چکیده:

In the present experimental study, highly conducting charged liquid jet and its produced droplets behaviour in the presence of electric field has been studied. A nozzle with 0.2mm ID and a stainless steel ring as a grounded electrode was employed in this work. The experiments have been done in Transformer oil as an insulating medium and mercury as a highly conducting liquid. The results confirm that with increasing applied voltage, the produced mean droplet diameter decreases and the rate of declining of mean droplet diameter diminishes with increasing flow rates. Length of breakup as an unbroken part of the liquid jet decreases with intensifying electric field and three main breakup modes have been observedin this procedure
