Abazar Soil Conservation and Watershed Management Researc –

چکیده:

The quality of water in the Kashkan River (KR) is vital importance to the people who live on its catchment. The aim of this study was to apply Water Quality Index (WQI) to evaluate variation of surface water quality in the KR. To apply WQI, the variations in concentrations of major water quality constituents measured periodically from 1994 to 2009 at 10 monitoring stations on the KR were used. This study has highlighted that water quality in the KR has been slightly deteriorated since 2000. Moreover, Jelhool sub-basin has worse water quality than the other sub-basins in the watershed
