چکیده:

The strain gauge based shell-type yarn tension gauge is one of the simplest devices suitable for the measurement of warp tension on a loom. Its response is assumed to be linear with the variation of warp tension, but this assumption is likely to be true only for small variations of tension. The considerably large amplitude of warp tension variation involved in most weaving operations, suggests that the response of the device may not be quite linear, due to the likelihood of slipping of the yarn on the contact surfaces of the gauge as well as the finite amount of cyclical bending undergone by the shell. Computer simulation of a typical gauge under sinusoidal loading shows that the output signal of the gauge has some non-linearity, which may still be considered small enough for most applications
