چکیده:

In this paper the effect of rigidity of panel zone on the behaviour of structure and on loaddisplacement curves are investigated. Twelve different cases are considered for each of the 4, 8 and 12 stories buildings in order to find the proper value of rigid zone factor that leads to real behaviour of structures with different heights. Different values for rigid zone factor, from 0 to 1.0 with 0.1 intervals are assigned to structures and it is showed that considering a fixed value for this parameter (usually 0.5 by designers) is not a good estimation. To investigate the effect of added plates’ thicknesses, five different thickness of column web plate in panel zone (0.8, 1.0, 1.2, 1.5 and 2.0 cm) are considered and the effect of this parameter on the period of structure and on load-displacement curve are investigated. Adding the column’s web plates increases the period of structure and this influence is greater for taller structures. Increasing the thickness of this plate has no linear effect on period and for each building a specified thickness has the most effect. Finally, the effect of steel properties of the added plate is investigated through consideration of ST52 instead of ST37. It has showed that the under load-displacement curve decreases for the recent case.
