چکیده:

Among all the methods used for measuring surface tension of molten polymers, drop shape methods acquire several advantages such as simplicity and adversity although they have disadvantages like requiring long equilibrium times. In spite of theoretical simplicity of the pendant drop method, it is quite difficult to reach equilibrium due to the high viscosity of molten polymers .However transient values of surface tension might be used in order to estimate surface tension at equilibrium by extrapolation, thus decreasing the amount of time needed. In this paper the surface tension of polyethylene / montmorillonite nanocomposites was investigated. The relationship between surface tension and temperature was evaluated using axisymmetric drop shape analysis (ADSA) at high temperatures
