The place, position and distance among the wells, and their numbers are important factors in oil or gas extraction in a field in a certain time span. Determining thedrilling area for new wells depends on a variety of variables. Not only are they various and complex, but also depend on the time and process of production andare so uncertain. On the other hand, there is no clear relationship between most of them and their reactions cannot be explained with a certain mathematicalformulae. Only the numerical models can put the reactions of the variables into account. Therefore, one method to determine the best distance and place to dig the wells isusing the numerical simulation of reservoirs. Therefore, an optimization instrument is needed to determine the best location of the wells.In this article, pso algorithm is investigated as an instrument to optimize the wells. The pso algorithm can write in a software format that can make model files for Eclipse simulator. It is shown in this article that if the genetic algorithm isarranged perfectly for the interested problem, the number of the simulators will be decreased drastically.
