چکیده:

Direct compounding method is used to prepare ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM)/Graphite oxide (GO) nanosheets composite to improve the mechanical properties of graphene oxide/EPDM nanocomposites. This improvement is achieved with loading small amount of graphite oxide nanosheets in polymer matrix. In comparison with pure EPDM, an increase in the percentage of loaded nanofillers improves the mechanical properties of nanocomposite. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of nanocomposites show an increase in the distance of nanosheets in the presence of polymer; also field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) images of nanocomposites present a high degree of exfoliation and intercalation of nano filler in polymer matrix
