This paper presented a simplified model of gasification process considering chemicalequilibrimn. To achieve this aim, minimization of the Gibbs free energy of the produced gaswas developed regarding system mass and energy balance equations. An advanced coding inEngineering Equation Solver (EES) was used to develop a simulation model. Fm1hermore, thesyngas composition of the rice husk and bagasse, which are produced in wide rage in Iran,and the effects of some variables such as moisture content, steam to biomass ratio and gasifiertemperature on the perfonnance of system were investigated. As the next step, co-gasificationof biomass and coal was compared with rice husk or bagasse gasification. The resultsindicated adding coal to biomass increases LHV of syngas from 4694kJ/Nm3 to 5321 kJ/Nm3,and gasifier efficiency from 71.29% to 77.85%.
