چکیده:

Nanometer-scale metal and semiconductor particles have attracted extensive attention due to their potential utility in optical-electro devices, catalysis, electrocatalysis, and chemical sensors [1]. The usual preparation techniques of metal nanoparticles on solid surfaces include: electric field assisted deposition of a metal–gas sol [2], vacuum deposition of metal [3], diffusion controlled aggregates [4], inert gas evaporation [5], e-beam and X-ray nanolithography [6], etc.In this paper, a novel electrochemical method of preparing metal nanoparticles through molecule-level design is described. Briefly, gold nanoparticles (n-Au) were first self-assembled on gold electrode by dithiol via Au–S bond. A Pt4+ monolayer was then adsorbed onto those gold nanoparticles due to electrostatic interaction with negatively charged gold nanoparticles.
