Zeolites are crystalline microporous aluminosilicates with periodic arrangements of cages and channels thatfind extensive industrial use as catalysts, adsorbents, and ion exchangers. Analcime is a form of zeolite with irregularchannels. In this research, we reported a method for synthesis of analcime zeolite nanoparticle. ANA zeolite wassuccessfully synthesized in the absence of organic template by hydrothermal method. Analcime zeolite (ANA) can bemodified with Ni(II) ions (Ni/ANA) by dispersion in a nickel chloride solution. The modified carbon paste electrode wasprepared by incorporation of Ni (II) – zeolite in the carbon past matrix. The electrochemical oxidation of formaldehydewas investigated at the surface of this modified electrode in alkaline solution using cyclic voltammetry andchronoamperometry methods. At the surface of Ni/ANACPE and in the presence of methanol, the anodic oxidationcurrent is largely increased whereas the cathodic current is decreased. The obtained results that Ni/ANACPE can enhancethe oxidation of methanol by a catalytic process through a decrease in overpotential of methanol oxidation with compareto Ni/CPE and overcome the low kinetic of reaction in alkaline solution.
