Industrialised Building System (IBS) is a construction process that utilizes techniques, products, components, or building systems which involve prefabricated components and on-site installation. Connections between IBS elements influence the behaviour of the whole structure against the dynamic loads. The earthquakes with distinguished vertical Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) can effect on the structures differently from those who have transversal or lingitudinal governor PGAs.In this study two types of 6 storeys IBS reinforced concrete housing using a new hybrid stee -concrete beam-to-column connection were analyzed by using SAP 2000 software. These two types of IBS are: type I) the model consists of beam-column frame system and type II) the previous model supplemented with shear walls. All of these two types of systems are designed under the gravitational and wind loads. Furthermore, all of structures analysed under the time history vertical component of Bam earthquake in Iran (2003). The Bam earthquake has a significant great vertical PGA (1.0 g) in comparison with other earthquakes this specification shows its adjacency to the earthquake centre . furthermore ,structural modelling is composed of conventional reinforced concrete system in addition to IBSmodels. The results were interpreted in order to determine the behaviour of each construction method to withstand the seismic loads of this destroyer earthquake.
