چکیده:

The in-situ Al-Mg2Si composites are good candidate for using in many industrial applications because of the presence of Mg2Si intermetallics. But, the presence of coarse primary Mg2Si particles in the composite matrix leads to poor tensile properties. In current research the effect of Ni on mechanical properties of Al-15%Mg2Si composite has been studied. The results showed that addition of Ni decreases the size of primary Mg2Si particles and also changes the morphology of eutectic Mg2Si from flake-like to rod-like. Adding Ni also made raise in the hardness, Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) and elongation values of the composite
