چکیده:

Zirconium oxide nanopowders were successfully synthesized via polyacrylamide gel method and the effect of initial salt precursor on the stabilization of tetragonal phase was investigated. The zirconium oxychloride and oxynitrate were used as the initial salt precursors. The X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and laser particle size analyzer were used for the analysis of synthesized powders. The results show that powders synthesized from zirconium oxynitrate completely has tetragonal structure while in the powders synthesized from zirconium oxychloride amounts of monoclinic structure has significantly been formed. The observed trend for the oxynitrate salt can be due to the presence of nitrate ions that retarded the crystallization and delayed the tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation
