Hard ferrites of the barium or strontium hexaferrite system are one of the most important permanent magnetic materials. Recently many investigators pay attention on magnetic properties of these materials on nano scale, which show the outstanding properties [1,2]. The intrinsic large coercivity, high saturation magnetization, high curie temperature, rather large crystal magnetic anisotropy, corrosion resistance, and high chemical stability of barium ferrite has led to its widespread use in permanent magnets, high density recording media, plasto-ferrites, and microwave applications. The glass crystallization method offers the possibility of controlling through heat treatments the crystallite size, microstructure and therefore the magnetic properties and also has proved to be an excellent method for obtaining particles with platelet shape and a narrow size distribution [3-5]. In this research, barium hexaferrite was synthesized by glass crystallization route and the effects of heat treatment parameters and addition of nucleating agent on its characteristics has been investigated
