چکیده:

Polystyrene is a thermoplastic material with a very wide range of applications, and as a result its rheological behavior during polymerization is of prime importance. However, rheological measurement during polymerization is very difficult because of rapid polymerization. In this article by using hydrogenated styrene (i.e. ethyl benzene) instead of styrene, short amplitude oscillatory test was performed to study the rheological behavior of polystyrene/ethyl benzene solutions. Moreover a commercial grade of polystyrene (Solarene G144) was used in the experiments to increase the resemblance to an actual process. Previous researches about concentrated polymer solution have used molecular and existence models for polymer meltand θ solutions to explain the behavior of these solutions. In the present work, polystyrene solutions with three different weight percentages of 50, 70 and 90wt% were studied, and a rheological relationship was proposed to correlate the corresponding data
