چکیده:

Significance of soil flexibility on seismic behavior of buildings has been revealed since last decades. So, seismic behavior of buildings interacting with underlying soil is studied in this paper. Initially, formulation of multistory buildings with fixed based (FB), soil-structure interaction (SSI) and structure-soil-structure interaction (SSSI) conditions are developed. Then, a case of two adjacent buildings is presented and its behavior considering three different foundation conditions is numerically investigated. Results depict that distribution of building response is changed due to soil flexibility which could be harmful for the building
