چکیده:

Layered double hydroxide LDH materials, commonly known as hydrotalcite-like compounds or anionic clays are a family of natural and synthetic materials of general formula[Mz+1-x M3+x (OH)2]ζ+ (Xζ/n) .mH2O. These materials are structurally similar to the mineral brucite, Mg( OH) 2 with a fraction of M II ions replaced by M III ions. This replacement results in a net positive charge on the octahedral layers, which is balanced by exchangeable interlayer anions [1].LDH can intercalate many important biomolecules with negative charge, which include oligomers and polymers like single or double stranded DNA, as well as simple molecules like drugs, nucleotides and vitamins. The Mg-Al hydrotalcite is biocompatible and has found pharmaceutical applications as a carrier for using in drug and gene delivery systems [2-4]. The idea is to store the drug in the interlayer region of the lamellar host and allow the drug release as a consequence of a de-intercalation process.
