چکیده:

The industrial waste water produced by hexamine plants is considered a major environmental polluting factor. This makes the treatment of such waste water a necessity. Currently, there is no established method for treatment of hexamine industrial waste water. Treatment with strongly acidic cation exchange resins is a proposed method for this work. Here, optimum conditions in treatment of hexamine waste water by three resins, C-100H (Purolite), Amberlite IR120 and Amberlyst15W, and regeneration of the exhausted resin have been studied so that it is possible to find out the amount of resin and acid needed for regenerating process. Ability of these resins in removing hexamine and ammonia from the waste water is compared. It is shown that these resins can remove hexamine from the waste water. Ammonia is also removed completely.
