چکیده:

detection of DC faults in VSC-HVDC transmission system for offshore wind farm is a crucial duty in order to protect the transmission system andmaintain the power delivery. Fast fault detection is needed due to vulnerability of VSC-HVDC systems and devices like Insulated Gate Bipolar ransistors (IGBTs). This paper presents a reliable and swift method to diagnose DC faults and distinguish from AC faults. Fault detection is done under different condition of faulty system on EMTDC-PSCAD. The simulation results show that the proposed method is a robust detector and has appropriate performance in recognizing DC faults from AC ones
