The goal with this paper is to study a theoretical design, simulation, characterising and refining of a rectangular patch antenna by measuring its impedance and bandwidth. The measured results on fabricated antenna structure are in reasonable agreement with theoretical calculations and simulation predictions and ultimately tested in the real world. Invaluable experience and insight into antenna engineering can only be realized by a complete design sequence exercise.
