چکیده:

In this paper, a MA TLAB program is utilized for linear and non-linear design of FPS, LRB, and HDRB base isolations for which the results have been validated through manual calculations. In addition, an optimized method of determining damping factor BD is introduced. Furthermore, the effect of isolators’dimensions on their behavior in various design periods as well as determining the shear force applied on superstructures is investigated. It is shown through analytical models that utilizing isolation system reduces the shear force applied on a structure. However, increasing the diameter of high damper rubberbearings and lead rubber bearings conservatively would diminish their expected performance. It isworth noting that choosing proper design period has an important role on isolators’ performance
