چکیده:

The need for retrofit of process industries is usually driven by projected changes in the pattern of production. To increase the throughput of the current process or to reduce the operating costs,one can make some modifications through the processes not typically designed at efficient use ofenergy and raw materials. This study covers the analysis and debottlenecking design of the heat exchanger network of the condensate stabilization unit of South Pars Gas Refinery. Due toimplementing a two-stage compressor as well as high pressure steam in the side-reboiler of thestabilization column, this section is one of the most energy consuming units in natural gas refinery. The applied method for debottlenecking of unit 103 after 20% increasing in throughputwas based on the utilization of optimum stream pressure drops. The result showed that about 1554.13 m2 of additional area is necessary to reduce the increased hot utility to the current level
