چکیده:

spacecraft heat shields use thermal protection system materials which ablate at high temperature for mass efficient rejection of aero-thermal heat load. Recent advances in polymer layered silicate nanocomposites have especially been improved heat protection performance. the objectives of this work are a comparative evaluation of the combustion behavior of the polymeric composite and nanocomposite materials as heat shields under the external radiation heat flux running the computer program and cone calorimeter experimental test at 8×۱۰۴ w.m-2 external heat flux condition show that the lower heat release rate of 30%-50% also a lower mass loss of 20%-40% for nanocomposites in compare to composite counterpart.
