چکیده:

In this paper, an improved genetic algorithm (IGA) employed to solve the economic load dispatch (ELD) problem. TheCombined Economic and Emission Dispatch is a non-linear optimization problem with several constraints (economicaland environmental constraints) subject to reduce The harmful ecological effects caused by the emission of particulateand gaseous pollutants like sulfur dioxide (SO2) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and the operating cost of the plants of apower system .The proposed method is tested for a three plant thermal power system and Simulation results with the proposedapproach have been compared with the solutions obtained from the classical lambda iterative technique and simplegenetic algorithm method.
