چکیده:

Host foods are the affective factors that can affect the development and survival of granivorous pests.The confused flour beetle, Tribolium confusum Jacquelin du Val (Col: Tenebrionidae), is an importantpest of stored products. In this research, the host selection of T. confusum on 12 wheat cultivars, namelyRoshan, Chamran, Yavarus, Erwyt 16, Erwyt 8, Erwyt 6, Erwyt 9, Erwyt 5, Erwyt4, Erwyt17, Erwyt18and Erwyt14 was studied under controlled condition. This experiment was conducted in 3 replications.Wheat cultivars were milled and derived flour (43 gr) were placed in 1L glass jars, and then ten adultpairs (male and female) 5-days old were released on the flour, covered with cloth mesh. This study wasconducted in laboratory at 27±۱ ºC, 60 ± ۵% R. H. and photoperiod of 8:16 h (L: D) for seven days. After7 days, number of dead adults insect and after 14 days, number of produced larvae was counted. Theresults indicated that Chamran with 1176 ±۳ produced larvae, 5% dead adults insect was highestsusceptible cultivar and E.18 and E.17 with 235±۳, ۲۴۳±۳ produced larvae and 38%,35% dead adultsinsect was highest resistant cultivars to T.confusum . Also observed maximum feeding with 48.84decreases in the amount flour in the Chamran cultivar and minimum feeding with 6.52%, 7.42% decreasein the E.18, E.17.
