Airborne particulate matter was collected from the area around a power plant was collected on guartz fiber filters. The samples were collected in winter and summer seasons. The exposed filters were wet digested with a mixture of nitric and hydrofluoric acid and used for analysis of heavy metals. The determination of heavy metals associated with airborne particulate matter was carried out by atomic absorption spectrometry. Seasonal variation in concentrations of heavy metals was investigated in order to clear the role of using gas in reduction of heavy metals concentration.
