Titanium extraction (IV) from nitric Acid solution has been studied using emulsion liquid membrane (ELM). The results show that using tri-n-octylphosphine oxide (TOPO) as a carrier obtained higher efficiency than tri butyl phosphate (TBP), double in some cases. Concentration of acid in the solution affects the amount of titanium extraction. In the second stage, the effect of sodium carbonate concentration as a stripper agent was studied. The highest stripping for titanium dioxide was obtained at1.5 molar sodium carbonate. In presence of various metal ions, selective permeation of titanium through liquid membrane was observed to be more than 93% of titanium from the primary solution. The most important point is completely removal of impurity in the final solution. In the third stage, Kinetic studies were carried out using a single drop column method. Reaction orders were determined with respect to titanium and nitric acid concentration in the aqueous phase and TOPO/TBP concentration in the organic phase.
