In the present research, a similar artificial waste-water has been developed by analyzing the waste-water composition of cheese producing factories. Afterwards, the effects of various operating parameters on the efficiency of a laboratory scale biological activated sludge system (BASS) were studied. six process parameters studied .pH of feed (5.2-6.1), Hydraulic detention time (90-100), amount of COD in feed (4350-4750), concentration level of microorganism (2500-3000), air feeding flow and microorganism type (both 1, 2,3 commercially symbol) which was determined at three levels. Taguchi technique was employed for experimental design. The system performance (percentage of waste-water COD removal) was investigated under designed conditions and data analysis was done by ANOVA method. This was done by maintaining the waste-water specification from temperature and pretreatment viewpoint and then the COD of the outlet waste-water was measured .Eventually, regardless of unwanted fluctuations in the experiment constant parameters, Detention time and microorganism concentration were found to be the most influencing parameters on the system efficiency of 90 hr. and 3000 gr/lit respectively, however the impact of other parameters are maximum in pH and feeding COD level of 5.6,4350 respectively. By choose of these conditions we can get over than 90% performance.
