Ionic Liquids (ILs) with their limitless combination of cations and anions can offer an optimal solvent for a specific purpose. But not all corresponding experimental studies are possible as they will be time consuming and expensive. In this work, the liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) of seventeen ternary system involving eight different ionic liquids, comprising 123 tie-lines, was correlated by the three local composition models namely NRTL, UNIQUAC and NRTL-NRF. Comparison of the results is expressed by deviation between experimental and calculated compositions that demonstrate the NRTL-NRF model is highly satisfactory with rmsd values about 1.01. To our best knowledge this is the first time that NRTL-NRF model has been applied for ternary LLE including ILs.
