this is the first radar study in the vicinity of north tabriz fault NTF that is the most prominenttectonic structure in the east azerbaijan province and tabriz is the fourth largest city in iran with incredibly non-standard buildings in the vicinity of NTF. in this study we present preliminary results for fault creep along NFT using synthetic aperture radar interferometry InSAR. InSAR is an advanced radar technique and differential SAR interferometry technique enables the measurement of crustal deformation with high accuracy . interferograms are generated of crustal deformation with high accuracy interferograms are generated by differencing the phase value of two coregistered radar images acquired at different times over the same area. the seismic risk for the built environment and the population is estimated to be high in tabriz and DInSAR techique allows to monitor interseismic motion to better assess the seismic risk of the region.
