چکیده:

The potentialities of nanoscale reinforcing materials, such as nanoparticles, nanofibers, nanotubes and nanoplatelets to improve the mechanical properties of polymer matrices were reported by many researchers in recent years. Carbon nanotubes are mentioned with the extraordinary reinforcing efficiency in highly oriented polymer fibers. However, a few literatures were published on producing the nanocomposite fibers with multi-walled nanotubes (MWNTs) in the melt spinning process duo to the dispersion difficulty of nanotubes in melt condition. In this article the effects of multi-walled carbon nanotube functionalized with carboxylic groups (MWNTs-COOH) on mechanical and electrical properties of PA 6 nanocomposite fiber during the melt spinning process were studied. The feeding materials were completely mixed by a Brabender internal mixer previous the melt spinning process and the nanocomposite fiber samples were melt spun by a laboratory melt spinning machine. The fiber samples were drawn after melt spinning to obtain an optimum alignment of CNTs and mechanical properties. The effects of using functionalized and non-functionalized MWNTs on dispersion of nanomaterials in matrix phase of nanocomposite fibers were discussed. Also, the evaluation results of mechanical and electrical properties of the nanocomposite fibers were presented
