In design approaches of latest contemporary architectural samples, on which effects of technological advances in architecture have been seen clearly, digital tools have been undertaking a new mission by providing contribution beyond being representation tools. During design processes, architects are able to regulate these tools to be customized as responsive models generating special solutions and alternatives for those designs. A major advantage of such specialized tools offers originality, indispensable for design works. So it becomes important to encourage the designers to make their own tools as relation to design conditions. To achieve this, it is especially needed to support of router implementations in design education fields. In this work, as a sample of model, a plug-in, called EduDesign has been developed with its features which are based on basic design rules and include instructional skeleton models and shell designs. With EduDesign implementations, providing a user-friendly and customized interface, it is aimed at accelerating users ‘interactions with digital tools and raising their interest on opportunities, presented by these tools. Potentials of EduDesign in architectural design education in terms of both its form generation as a design support tool and its instructional qualification have been tried on different class sessions, called as Form-finding, Shell Design and Composition. According to user’ interests and resultant experiences, positive feedbacks in the direction of increasing the amount of such studies have been obtained and also the content of the plug-in has been enhanced and re-designed by user ‘demands and returns after the sessions.
