چکیده:

Poly(ethylene terephthalate)/TiO2 nanocomposite films were prepared by melt blending of PET and anatase TiO2. Anatase TiO2 at three levels (1, 3 and 5%) added to the polymer matrix. DSC analyses show that the presence of nanofillers noticeably affects the crystallization temperature and final degree of crystallinity of PET. The crystallization temperature moves to higher temperatures in comparison to neat PET while the value of melting point does not change considerably. TiO2 nanoparticles play the role of heterogeneous nucleus and generally promote the crystallization process in the obtained PET/TiO2 nanocomposites. The glass transition of nanocomposites was not changed significantly with increasing TiO2 content which confirms weak cross-linking reaction between PET chains and TiO2 nanoparticle surface.
