چکیده:

The main objective of topology discovery is finding connectivity structure of the active network nodes. Finding topology is important because it can be used for many other management services. So, performing this task in an appropriate and a low cost manner is very important. In this paper, we propose an active and informed network topology discovery approach based on active and mobile computing and it is optimized for lower cost and operation time and higher accuracy and performance. Our approach tries to utilize active potentials well. In comparison with an inactive or an active but uninformed approach and other similar works, the amount of resource occupation in this approach is very lower. Finally, we show how this approach can be used as a base and a generic operation and navigation model for many higher level services.
