چکیده:

Generation of shakemaps (spatial distribution of ground motion parameters) needs background studies such as attenuation relationships and surface geology effects. In addition, it requires suitable hardware equipments (i.e. seismic network and reliable communication), and finally a software for estimating ground shaking parameters and plotting maps. Shakemap is basis of other post-earthquake emergency management maps like loss and casualty maps. We present the mechanism of our software for estimation of ground shaking maps. The software couldutilize its flexible algorithm to generate a shakemap in any different region. This procedure essentially does not require any other programs for determining magnitude and epicenter. An advantage of this software is using of an accurate method for estimation of moment magnitude. This software coded in user-friendly Matlab® environment that benefits from computational and plotting capabilities. Our procedure is capable to produce urban and regional shakemaps. We implemented this software in Tehran rapid response pilot project, in urban scale. In regional scale the software was tested offline using obtained data from Zanjiran (MW=5.9) 20/6/1994 earthquake. Output file of the software with txt extension can be used as an input by other programs such as loss estimation and GIS softwares.
