چکیده:

In recent years, increased attention has been focused on the synthesis of nano-structured lead dioxide. This materials possess improved magnetic properties, energy storage capacities and photocatalytic and catalytic properties [1]. Lead dioxide (PbO2) is an attractive materials for use in different applications, for instance, in lead acid batteries, an analytical transducer with a high electrocatalytic activity for anodic oxygen transfer processes, ozone evolution, electrosynthesis and waste treatment processes [2].This paper discusses the results of a research aimed at investigating the synthesis of nanostru-ctured lead dioxide through reaction of lead acetate solution and sodium hydroxide solution in the presence of constant frequency ultrasonic waves (Sonochemical methode) and polyvinyl -pirrolidone (PVP) as a surfactant. The effects of different parameters including lead acetate concentration, sodium hydroxide concentration, synthesis temperature, treatment time and PVP concentration were investigated.The prepared lead dioxide nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Under optimum conditions, homogeneous nanostructured lead dioxide with particle size of 15-30 nm was obtained
