چکیده:

Dermaptera (earwigs) is a poor studied group of insect in Iran. Information about them is rather rarecomparing other insect groups through the world. The aim of current work was study the COI genesequences of earwigs in Mashhad region and vicinity, Iran. Sampling collection was carried out through2009 -2010. Classic species delimitation showed that the specimens belonged to Forficula auricularia ,Labidura riparia and Anechura bipunctata. Among those species, Forficula auricularia was determined aspredominant species in Mashhad region and vicinity. For molecular survey purpose, COI gene was amplifiedand sequenced. Resulted sequences compared via databank through nBlast as well BOLD system for DNAbarcode data set. The interpretation of cladogram of species relation based on NJ method as well inter-intraspecific distances showed that COI gene could be a suitable marker for study species idendity of thoseearwigs .The results of this work provided the first COI sequence for Anechura bipunctata . Here wepresented the first classic-molecular survey on Iranian earwigs.
