چکیده:

A new model has been developed for unsteady–state operations of tyre pyrolysis in spouted bed reactors based on streamtube concept. This model predicts radial distributions of heat and mass inside the bed. The predicted results from the model have been compared with the experimental data for pyrolysis of scrap tyre in a spouted bed and a good agreement has been observed with a mean relative deviation of 0.4%. The model predictions for a scaled–up spouted bed confirmed that the existence of an excellent gas-solid contact in spouted beds minimizes the limitations of heat and mass transfer and maintains the bed under isothermal condition
